Image Formats |
Internet browsers can show images in one of three formats.
- JPEG - (suffix .jpg)
JPEG format is used for photographic images.
- GIF - (suffix .gif)
GIF images can display up to 256 colours and can include transparency.
- PNG - (suffix .png)
PNG images can display more than 256 colours and are replacing GIF images.
In addition, The LemLink system can upload images in the following formats, and automatically compress and convert them to JPEG format.
- BMP - (suffix .bmp)
A Windows OS standard
- PICT - (suffix .pict)
A Mac OS standard
- TIFF - (suffix .tif or .tiff)
